At 6 a.m., the city has not yet awakened, Hangzhou Qiantang south side of the branch road on the non-motorised road, an unmanned sweeping robot has quietly opened a day of work.
It travelled along the right side of the road at a constant speed, the body of the front four groups of sweeping discs rotating at high speed, the leaves, dust and other debris inhaled accurately; encountered pedestrians or obstacles, the robot will automatically slow down, avoid; through the intersection, but also to identify the traffic light signals, safe passage ......
Originally, this is HangzhouQiantang District, the firstofficially put into operation unmanned cleaning robot, it is "technology" to help sanitation operations.

It is understood that this unmanned cleaning robot is equipped with a variety of "black technology", equipped with an intelligent driving system and intelligent operation control system, equipped withtwoLiDAR,sevenhigh-definition cameras and a number of sensors, can achieve a full range of environmental awareness, centimetre-level positioning and full-scene autonomy decision-making, whether it is automatically driving, avoiding pedestrians, or sweeping garbage, clearing dust. Or sweeping rubbish, clearing dust are not a problem.
"This unmanned cleaning robot can run stably in rainy days, haze and other bad weather conditions, greatly easing the pressure of manual cleaning." Hangzhou Dajiangdong City Facilities Management Co., Ltd. staff introduction, "especially this recent high temperature days, its commissioning can effectively reduce the operating time of sanitation workers in the hot environment."

Data show that the unmanned cleaning robot is purely electric drive, every hour can efficiently clean 3 to 5 kilometres of road surface, covering an area of about12,000square metres. It is worth mentioning that it is also a proper "detail control", can achieve centimetre-level edge cleaning, the edge of the pavement and other cleaning easy to ignore the "dead" area, can achieve deep cleaning, improve the overall quality of cleaning.
In addition, it also holds a special licence for automatic driving equipment in Hangzhou, and will automatically avoid vehicles and pedestrians when working at a constant speed on the road, and will observe traffic lights and strictly abide by traffic rules when passing through the road.

After a month of actual road testing, the robot has accumulated over700kilometres ofoperation on many main roads and side roads such as Qingliu Road, Jiangdong First Road, Jiangdong Second Road, Qingxi First Road, Qingxi Second Road and the south side of the side roads, without any safety accidents. At the same time, the operator has also taken out a commercialised comprehensive insurance policy covering product quality and third party liability insurance to fully protect public safety.
"We have to go on the road to clean up at five o'clock or so, and we are exposed to the sun in summer and the wind in winter, but now with this helper, we just need to make up sweeping and inspections, and the work intensity has been reduced by a lot." A sanitation worker who has been in the field for more than ten years lamented.
At present, the unmanned cleaning robot is mainly in the relatively low traffic flow in the morning and evening rush hour gap to carry out regular operations (5:00-7:00, 13:00-15:00), the future will be based on operational data to optimise scheduling strategies, and gradually adjusted to the night time operation, for sanitation workers to reduce the burden.
This shift is the vivid embodiment of technology empowering the front line and promoting the refinement of urban governance. From the trial run of the police unmanned patrol car, to now officially "on duty" unmanned cleaning robots, a "AI flavour" full of innovative products one after another in Qiantang took root, and gradually integrated into the daily scene of urban management, benefiting the general public.
