New Strength in Intelligent Sanitation: Unmanned Sweeping Robot KUSA StarSweep Appears in Hangzhou Sanitation Skills Competition

On 24 October, the Hangzhou Sanitation Industry Vocational Skills Competition kicked off in Xihu District. Organised by Hangzhou Comprehensive Administration and Law Enforcement Bureau, the event coincided with the Sanitation Workers' Day, aiming to pay tribute to the hard work of the sanitation workers and at the same time showcasing the latest technological achievements in the sanitation industry.

As a leader in the sanitation industry, KUSA Technology was invited to participate in this event and demonstrated the unmanned cleaning robot KUSA StarSweep, which became the focus of the audience due to its excellent performance and intelligent operation.

In the demonstration session, KUSA StarSweep firstly showed its powerful ability in traffic rule understanding and intelligent decision making - it can accurately identify traffic light signals, understand traffic rules and make intelligent decisions to ensure safe driving.

Based on the AI vision-led multi-source heterogeneous perception system, KUSA StarSweep is able to accurately identify the rubbish on the road and perform centimetre-level edge-to-edge sweeping, and its adaptive dead-angle-free operating mechanism can automatically adjust the width, height and rotational speed of the sweeping disc according to the road surface, so that KUSA StarSweep is still able to maintain excellent sweeping results even when facing non-level road surfaces.

When facing obstacles temporarily parked on side roads, KUSA StarSweep is able to make precise judgement through multiple cameras and cleverly bypass them. At the same time, KUSA StarSweep can also take photos of rubbish left nearby and upload this information to the cloud synchronously. Once the cloud platform receives the supplementary sweeping information, it will immediately notify other robots to come and carry out supplementary sweeping to ensure that every corner is not missed.

The debut of KUSA StarSweep is a microcosm of the trend of mechanisation and unmanned operation in the sanitation industry, which signifies that the sanitation industry is moving towards a more efficient and intelligent direction.
